In 1973, I was on my way to Los Angeles to fulfill a music and film career when I started listening to a radio program in Dallas every night. I couldn't stop listening to it until one evening, a guest came on and shared about spiritual energy, how to see auras and the fact that we are a soul with a physical body and not a physical that has a soul.
I was intrigued and decided to go to his lecture. As a result, I went back to my apartment and showed everyone how to do it!
During the next week, he showed me how to have a solid two-way communication with my own spiritual helpers or guides. I never even knew they existed!
I immediately went home and made a list of 30 questions I wanted to ask them...and they answered every single one. Specifically. I didn't have to have a "sign," to meditate, use angel cards, "hope" I heard something in my head and anything of the sort.
This was a no-holds barred direct communication where I received the answer immediately...and I could actually "feel" my angels giving me the answer.
I was hooked. I spent the next three days practicing and asking them questions about my personal life, my business life and my social life. I even asked them if I needed to continue dating my current girlfriend!
I started to see how incredible this was. And I discovered that there are four spiritual gifts that we use to pick up inspiration through our sensitivity. They are the gifts of:
Everyone has these spiritual gifts, but they come in a specific order...and everyone is different. Mine is prophecy, which simply means that I get an "inner knowing" or "hunches and impressions" all day long.
Using the two-way communication technique the person showed me, I was able to ask my angels if the impressions I was getting came from them or not. Or whether it was simply my imagination.
It never failed. It always worked.
I started applying it in my business life as well. Since I was a film producer and musician, I would check to see which projects were really in my best interest to pursue.
Once, I went against their suggestion (they never give advice!) and ended up in the soup. The project looked great on the surface and I had fun doing it for about a month, but then they ran out of financing and I was stuck. Really, I was trying to help out a friend...and you know how that goes.
After that, I started trusting my helpers more. I finally made it out to Los Angeles and got a hunch that it would be great to work with Steve Allen, who started the Tonight Show on NBC Television in the 1950's. For those of you under 30, this is like working for Jay Leno.
I didn't know where his office was, but the first day I arrived, I got on the freeway and had a "hunch" to get off at Sepulveda Boulevard in Van Nuys. I drove down the street and had a feeling to go between two buildings - and I looked up to see "Steve Allen" on a parking space. Unbelievable!
When I walked up the stairs to the office building, I realized that was indeed his office. When I asked for a job, his executive secretary said to me, "How did you know the gentleman you will be replacing just gave his two-week notice?"
I guess I was in the right place at the right time. Now, this happens to me every single day.
After 9 months of being in Hollywood, I decided that what I really wanted to do was show everyone how to do this for themselves. In other words, how to get their own answers...and trust what they get.

As a matter of fact, I have shown children as young as seven and eight years old how to contact their angels (with their parent's permission, of course). I remember a 12-year old young girl in Colorado who came to a workshop with both her mother and father. I noticed that at the end of the session, she was in the corner asking her angels questions. When I went over to see if I could help her, she said, "Before I came here, I didn't even know I had angels. Now I can talk to them!" I could certainly relate to that.
When I was still in the film business, I remember a gentleman who didn't come back to work for three days. Since we were working on a project together, I finally called him and said, "Bill, are you coming back to work?" He said, "Are you kidding? I have too many things to ask my guidance." When he did come back, he was so proficient, that he even wrote the narration to the film and it fit perfectly. No editing required.
When the internet "happened," we had to find a way to share this information without having to be there in front of the person. This is how I had done it for the last 25 years before I started Inner Expansion in October 2000.
I woke up in the middle of the night and said to myself, "I wonder if we can show everyone how to ask their angels questions over the phone?" The next day, I got a call from a man in Boston who wanted to know when I was coming back so that he could learn the two-way communication technique.
I said, "How would you like to be the first to do it over the phone?" He said, "Sure!" So we scheduled it for the next day. And it worked. 100%. He was delighted. And so was I. I had found a way to make sure that no one got left out - no matter where they were in the world.
Since then, we have conducted private phone consultations for people on every continent. There are no limitations anymore. By the way, you should hear the gasps of delight when they first "feel" their angels giving them the answer. It doesn't get any better than that.
The first technique we show you in eCourse 101: My Personal Life Plan and Personal Direction Session, which is the private phone consultation, is what I call the Personal Energy Cleansing technique.
This is a very simple but dynamic technique and for those of you who have bought my book Inner Guidance and the Four Spiritual Gifts, there is a detailed description of it. In the eCourse, you get a video of exactly how to do it for yourself. And it takes about a minute.
The purpose of this technique is to help you raise the level of your energy to 100% positive. No more feeling tired or run down. You can connect immediately to your guidance after that because you are building a "buffer zone" of energy around you so that when your angels come around, they give you "chills or goose-bumps" on your physical body.
Because they are master souls and their energy is very high, you will have a complete feeling of elation and happiness or inner contentment when they are close around you.
By the way, your angels or guides are not loved ones who have passed on while you were alive. Your spiritual helpers are souls that have "graduated" from planet earth and you chose them before you incarnated into your physical body. They had a similar purpose as you and that is the reason why you asked them to help you in this lifetime.
There are many people who want you to believe that you have an "Indian Guide" or your angels are people you have known throughout your life. Even if they are helping you, they really need to move on themselves and go with their own guidance to get what they need spiritually. It is very unhealthy to yearn for them or ask them for help. They could be interfering with your own spiritual helpers trying to communicate with you. More about this when you take the eCourse.
In addition to the Personal Energy Cleansing technique, which takes about a minute to do, we also show you the World Cleansing technique. This is incredible for cleansing your environment spiritually so that everyone in it feels relaxed and comfortable.
I know a lady in Canada who volunteered in a jail and one day she went in to see the guards and the inmates going at each other. She started doing the World Cleansing technique and in about 10 minutes, they started helping each other! This is how powerful it is. You can do it in your home, your office and even where you go to shop so that you are gliding on a carpet of positive energy wherever you go.
Everyone wants to know what their life purpose is. Did you know that you have been living it throughout your life - and you may not even be aware of it? You didn't come here to be a doctor, lawyer, shopkeeper or street-sweeper. You came to share a unique and positive spiritual message.
